Sexual Health And Peace Of Mind

There is something to be said for regular screenings for sexually transmitted infections when dating and going to be sexually active. Recently, I saw accidently saw a copious amount of amateur porn on a date’s phone. At the time, I felt like he was gaslighting me when he blamed me for seeing it when I decided to bring it up. I was curious about how many of the women he was sleeping and brought up that there were diseases out that would kill him. I didn’t feel like this was an unreasonable question to ask. He replied that he doesn’t sleep with nasty girls. This floored me. I had to inquire if he knew what someone had by just looking at them.

Take control of your sexual health. Get tested. Ask potential partners to be tested. If they say no or you won’t let them see that they are recent, you say no.

About Me

When did life get so complicated? I started this blog last year after a tough breakup and named it ‘Dating Is A Dumpster Fire.’ The blog was less about the breakup and more about the comically tragic dates that I kept going on. The effort to find a mate has led me down a path of healing from past trauma and becoming my best self. Somewhere along the way, life has thrown more challenges and left me with fewer dating prospects. Perhaps the best version of myself is single with a cat.
