Thing That Make My Head Tilt

So, one of the apps I use for dating has a feature with a little blue dot next to their name both in the profile and in the messaging system if they are online, and an open circle when they have been on recently. It’s a helpful tool to see if the accounts are still active or if the person is focused on ruining some poor girl’s life. However, it also shows if someone you have been talking to/messaging/texting is online. I can give the perfect example. I had been talking to this person intermittently, who abruptly went radio silent. But I could see that he was online or online recently. That speaks volumes, and it says, “I was looking for or briefly thought I found someone I wanted to talk to more, but that did not work, so let me reach out and try to hook up with you again.” Seriously. Stop. The. Nonsense. Their excuse was that they had been really busy with work. I can see a day, two days. But, the only way a person is too busy to talk because of work is because they were tied up in the corporate basement. Other acceptable excuses are being hospitalized in a coma or having all his fingers broken because he owed money to the mob. None of these scenarios would explain how he managed to log into a dating website.

So seriously, stop putting all this energy into one person, especially if they are still actively playing the field.

About Me

When did life get so complicated? I started this blog last year after a tough breakup and named it ‘Dating Is A Dumpster Fire.’ The blog was less about the breakup and more about the comically tragic dates that I kept going on. The effort to find a mate has led me down a path of healing from past trauma and becoming my best self. Somewhere along the way, life has thrown more challenges and left me with fewer dating prospects. Perhaps the best version of myself is single with a cat.
